Chinese procurators urged to safeguard judicial justiceProcurators in China have been urged to safeguard judicial justice and pay special attention to detecting job-related crimes committed by law-enforcement personnel. "Procuratorates should step up supervision over criminal cases handled by law enforcement departments, so as to crack down on criminal activities timely and efficiently," said Jia Chunwang, procurator-general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, at the current national working conference of procuratorates. The main difference between Chinese procuratorates and their foreign counterparts is that in China, procuratorates not only work as the public prosecutor but also play the role as a supervisor over activities of other law-enforcement departments, Jia said. He also urged all procurators to improve their work. Source: Xinhua |
