Simultaneous interpretation is available for seven ethnic languages at important central and local government conferences.

These seven ethnic languages are Mongolian, Tibetan, Uygur, Kazak, Korean, Yi and Zhuang languages, according to the State Ethnic Affairs Commission.

Meanwhile, central and local radio stations are using 21 ethnic languages. Numerous publications are published in ethnic languages. For instance, the number of books printed in Uygur Language totals more than 10 million a year.

So far, three autonomous regions of Tibet, Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia have issued local laws on the use of ethnic languages.
