China, an engine of Asian economy

China has become an engine driving forward Asian economy, and will play a decisive role in regional integration, Lee Hsien Loong, Singapore's Prime Minister, elaborated on China's position in the future development of Asia at the "Future of Asia" international forum on May 25 in Tokyo.

Asia's economic achievements are noticed by the world and it has become a region of fastest growth rate and highest vitality and potential. Asia's development exerts an essential influence to the world and its moving direction remains a focus of the globe.

Two days earlier, Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi gave a special speech at the forum entitled "Asian revitalization and the common responsibility of China, Japan". She pointed out that peace and development are two wheels in the course of revitalizing Asia. Countries in these region should bend their efforts in three directions: expand and deepen the cooperation between ASEAN and China, Japan and South Korea in an all round way; further strengthen cooperation among China, Japan and South Korea and actively push forward pan-Asia cooperation.
