China's top legislator Wu Bangguo left Auckland on Saturday for Malaysia after concluding an official good-will visit to New Zealand.

Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, arrived in the country's largest city on Friday from the capital city Wellington, where he held talks with Prime Minister Helen Clark and met with Margaret Wilson, speaker of the House of Representatives.

During his stay in Wellington, Wu also met with Don Brash, leader of the opposition New Zealand National Party.

Malaysia is the last leg of Wu's four-nation Asia-Pacific tour, which has already taken him to Singapore and Australia as well as New Zealand.
