Chinese President Hu Jintao watched a singing and dancing performance by children from the Little Red Star Kindergarten Art Troupe on Sunday.

Hu said he was very happy to celebrate the International Children's Day, which falls on June 1 every year, along with children.
"Children are the future of the country and the nationality as well as the hope for the constant development of the Party's cause," said Hu.
Also present were military leaders Guo Boxiong, Cao Gangchuan, Xu Caihou, Li Jinai, Liao Xilong, Chen Bingde, Qiao Qingchen and Jing Zhiyuan.
In 1940, the kindergarten was set up in Yan'an, then revolutionary headquarters of the CPC-ruled Liberation Area, with the name of the Central Kindergarten.
At the end of the performance, Hu and other military leaders walked up onto the stage and had a photo taken with the kids.
