Private businesses to enter national defense industry
font size

The regulation for the license of research and production of arms equipment made public by the Commission of Science Technology and Industry for National Defense on May 27 gives non-public enterprises the access to the industry.

Liu Dongkui, an official with the commission, believed this would facilitate the construction of a new system for the sci-tech industry for the national defense by encouraging moderate and well-regulated competition.

He promised that his commission would accelerate the licensing process for the research and production of arms equipment. They will review some 300 applications in the second half of the year.
