China releases economic statistics for first four months

China has generated electricity of 730 bln kilowatt-hours from January to April, a year-on-year increase of 12.6 percent. The average operation time of power-generating equipment has increased nine hours to 1,750 hours. The electricity consumption has risen 13.5 percent to 743.2 bln kilowatt-hours. Heavy industries are still the major electricity consumers.

The export of clothes has risen 15.6 percent to 19.27 bln US dollars from January to April. The growth has slowed down month by month. Export of textile yarn and products has increased by 23.2 percent to 12 bln US dollars, lower than average growth rate. In April, the export volume of clothes increased only 14.8 percent to reach 5.28 bln US dollars. According to customs'statistics China��s foreign trade export increased by 34 percent in the first four months.
