font size

To further meet the need of promoting Chinese culture, the Renmin University of China will set up the first Sinology college among domestic universities, and student enrollment will begin in the coming September.

The Sinology college will be directly engaged in the teaching and research work, said Ji Baocheng, president of the university, on May 29, adding that a research institute will be set up simultaneously. Feng Qiyong, a renowned scholar on the studies of "A Dream of Red Mansions", one of the Four Famous Chinese Classics, has been invited to be principal of the new collage.

The collage puts undergraduate and postgraduate courses together into a six-year period of study, and graduates can obtain directly a master degree in related subjects.
