Forum on China-Russia regional cooperation to be held in NE China

A forum on China-Russia regional cooperation and development will be held between June 14 and 16 in Harbin, capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.

The forum, co-sponsored by the Heilongjiang provincial government and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, will introduce Russia's investment environment and preferential policies for foreign investors, the transformation of Russia's industrial structure as well as the due procedures for Chinese companies to enter the Russian market.

During the three-day forum, officials and entrepreneurs from both countries will discuss topics including China and Russia's national and regional policies and laws of investment, the economic development strategy of Siberia and Far East area in Russia, Russian investment and cooperation with their Chinese neighbors, said the organizing committee.

The forum will attract more than three hundred government officials, experts and businessmen from both countries. The

Russian delegation will also bring nearly two hundred projects in hope to seek Chinese partners in such fields as investment, high-tech and trade.

Previously, the forum has been held twice in China in 2001 and in Russia in 2002, respectively.
