China is willing to enhance cooperation with Algeria in various fields, said Chinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan in Beijing Monday.

"China and Algeria have further deepened their cooperation in politics, economy and culture in recent years," Cao said in a meeting with Algerian Commander of the Navy Yala Mohamed Tahar, noting that relations between the two armed forces also have witnessed continuous progress.

Cao, also vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission and state councilor, said China appreciates Algeria's adherence to one- China policy and support for China in international affairs.

Tahar expressed his gratitude for the Chinese armed forces to provide help to the Algerian armed forces, hoping that the two armed forces would further enhance exchanges and cooperation in various fields.
