The Shanghai Flood Control and Prevention Headquarters and two other departments jointly issued a notice Tuesday, urging the city's 8,000-plus on-going construction sites to prepare for the flood season which starts on June 1.
The 8,000-plus projects under construction include 50 key projects which are vulnerable to being blocked in the sewers if hit by floods, the headquarters source said.
According to the notice, legal persons and leaders of the construction sites should take responsibility of flood prevention and receive supervision by making public their names.
All the construction sites should take care of the flood control and prevention facilities and conduct comprehensive checks and overhauls over the drainage and sewage systems, the notice said.
