China condemns Japan not correctly treating history

China expressed strong condemnation for Japanese leaders "not correctly treating history," said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan Tuesday.

"Japanese politicians' continual voicing grievances for class-A war criminals made people see clearly the political fact that Japanese leaders cannot correctly face the history of aggression," he said.

Kong said, Japanese politicians have ignored the strong condemnations from Asian countries and the world and denied the verdicts by the International Military Tribunal.

Masahiro Morioka, the Japanese parliamentary secretary for health, labor and welfare published an article recently on his personal website, where he states that "Class-A war criminals are no longer criminals" and "Tokyo trial is against international laws."

Earlier last week, another Japanese politician Kyuma Fumio, chairman of the Policy Research Council of Liberal Democratic Party, also defended the class-A war criminals. China strongly condemned his rhetoric.

Kong said Japan's militarist aggression has brought enormous harm to the world especially Asian nations and the Japanese people.

Kong said that this year the whole world is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the victory World War II. Nevertheless, politicians who continue to absolve WWII war criminals from guilt are still quite popular in Japan.

"This really made people cannot but doubt that what role on earth will Japan play in the international community, " Kong said.
