China starts exploiting copper mine with largest reserves

As a key witness to the development of modern industry in Tibet the Tibet Yulong Copper Industrial Corporation Ltd. was founded on May 28 at Changdu, a pivotal town in eastern Tibet. A mine with China's largest ensured copper reserves - Yulong Copper Mine has entered a substantial stage of exploitation.

Yulong Cooper Mine is located within Qingnitong in Changdu. Preliminary surveying of its copper resource has shown reserves of 6.26 million tons. Prospective reserves reach 10 million tons. It changed China's situation of inadequate copper mines and poor copper grade. Infrastructure construction including water, electricity, transportation and communications in the Yulong Mine is progressing smoothly.
