Ghana President meets Chinese official

President of Ghana John Agyekum Kufuor met Tuesday with Wang Zhongyu, vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), both sides agreed to further strengthen their bilateral ties, a news release issued by the Chinese delegation said in Accra.

Both Kufuor and Wang spoke highly of the friendship between Ghana and China. The two countries would further strengthen bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields, they said.

After the meeting, Kufuor and Wang attended the signing ceremony of an accord on economic and technological cooperation between the two countries.

Wang, who leads a delegation of the CPPCC, is visiting Ghana at the invitation of the speaker of Ghana's parliament.
