font size

China's first homemade high-power heavy gas engine, developed through carrying out independent reform and upgrade on foreign advanced technology, passed the test run at the first try at the Deyang Oriental Steam Turbine Plant in Sichuan - China's base for key technological equipment.

The national key electric industrial equipment has a localization rate of about 50 percent. Its successful test run indicates that China has joined the ranks of countries with the capability to develop world-class heavy gas engines.

According to sources the Oriental Steam Turbine is cooperating with Mitsubishi Co. and has obtained a contract to make ten 270,000-kilowatt F heavy gas engines.
