Yantgze River Delta to build trade early warning system
font size

Shanghai will work together with its neighboring Jiangsu, Zhejiang provinces and other cities to build a Yangtze River Delta pre-warning system on exports to help foreign trade businesses deal with the changeable global trade environment.

The system is supposed to start with the textile sector. China faces restrictions on its textile products imposed by the European Union and the US since May after textile quotas were eliminated in WTO members as of January 1 this year.

The textile sector, which is one of the pillars of Shanghai economy, has experienced steady but slower exports this year. The city has realized the best solution is to offer products with higher added value, build their own brands and encourage producers' overseas strategy.
