China is the largest customer of Italian textile machinery last year. 15 percent of the orders were placed by Chinese buyers, which valued 311 million euro.

A personage from the Italian Association of Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) thinks China has not only become the largest market in the world for textile machinery, but also one of the most sensitive markets to any changes on the global market.

In 2004, China's imports and exports of textile machinery totaled more than 5.33 billion USD with the imports of 4.7 billion USD, a slight rise of 0.92 and exports of 676 million USD, a jump of 28.13 percent.
