China holds "positive attitude" in economic cooperation with Peru, Chinese Premier
"I hope we will abide by the principle of mutual benefit and keep on exploring new ways and fields for bilateral cooperation in a bid to boost economic and trade cooperation between us," Wen said in a meeting with Toledo. China and Peru formed diplomatic ties 34 years ago. In 2004, the bilateral trade volume between the two countries reached 1.94 billion US dollars. Wen said Peru's recognition of China's full market economy helps create favorable conditions for bilateral trade and economic cooperation. "China and Peru are reliable friends to each other," Wen said, adding that the two have always showed understanding and supports to the other on issues concerning the other's core interests. "China will join hands with Peru to continue improving and deepening the comprehensive and cooperative partnership," Wen said. Toledo said Peru expects more investments from the Chinese enterprises in the area of mining, energy and infrastructure construction. "Peru will provide a good political, economic and legal environment for the Chinese investment," he said. Wen and Toledo also agreed to strengthen cooperation in culture and tourism for deepening mutual understanding and friendship of the two peoples. Source: Xinhua | ||
