China, Turkey to enhance anti-terrorism cooperation

Chinese State Counselor Zhou Yongkang Saturday told visiting Turkish Gendarmerie Commander Fevzi Turkerithat China is ready to enhance exchanges and cooperation with the Turkish Gendarmerie in anti-terrorism, anti-crime and public security.

Zhou, who is also minister of public security, said China and Turkey have had friendly cooperative ties since they established diplomatic relations 34 years ago. China is ready to join hands with Turkey to push forward comprehensive, healthy and sustained growth of bilateral ties.

The two countries' public security and internal affairs departments have had fruitful cooperation in recent years, Zhou admitted.

Turkeri said the Turkish Gendarmerie is willing to further its exchanges and cooperation with China in anti-terrorism.

Turkeri started his China tour Thursday at the invitation of Chinese People's Armed Police Force.
