Nepal and India will hold here a meeting on water resources in the second week of June, an official said in Kathmandu Monday.
"The meeting scheduled for June 11-13 is especially for the Koshi High Dam in Biratnagar city of eastern Nepal," Mahendra Nath Aryal, secretary of the Ministry of Water Resources, told reporters.
The meeting is expected to give both administrative and technical authority to the project's office for further studies, Aryal said, adding, "It includes tendering, preparing site map and environmental impact assessment of the project."
A joint office of the project was set up in Biratnagar two years ago in a bid to construct in Nepal the first joint water project between the two countries to generate electricity, Aryal revealed.
The joint-secretary level meetings on other issues related to water and power that were scheduled for February and March were stalled after India called off the meeting without citing any reason.
The two governments have made arrangements to hold secretary-level meeting on water resources twice a year.
