font size

Chinese and Japanese officials signed documents for two aid projects Monday offering 9.5 million US dollars to help the Chinese government train officials and protect the environment.

The projects are the Human Resource Development Scholarship and the Afforestation for Conservation of Middle Stream of the Yellow River (Phase II) which involves about 6.14 million US dollars and approximately 3.35 million US dollars.

The fund will be used to pay fees for Chinese officials studying in Japan and to purchase labor and machinery for planting trees in northern China's Shanxi Province.

Japan has offered 1.25 billion US dollars worth of aid to China since 1981, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
