Peruvian President Alejandro Toledo left Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, Monday night, after his six-day state visit to China.
Before his departure, Toledo met with Guangdong governor Huang Huahua. The two vowed to further enhance bilateral economic and trade ties.
Toledo said Peru and China have enjoyed a 150-year history of exchanges. Over the past few years, bilateral exchanges in the fields of economy, trade and culture have become daily increasing.
Guangdong is one of the most important trading partners of Peru, Toledo said.
Huang said trade between Guangdong and Peru increased by 88 percent in 2004 year on year and 100 percent in the first four months of this year compared with the same period of last year.
There exist great potentials for cooperation between Guangdong and Peru, Huang said.
Besides Guangzhou, Toledo visited Beijing, Xi'an and Shanghai during his China tour which started last Wednesday.
During his stay in Beijing, Toledo and Chinese President Hu Jintao attended the signing ceremony of seven documents on Sino- Peruvian cooperation in transportation, traditional medicine, education and tourism sectors.
