Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov praised on Monday in Moscow the tripartite meeting his Chinese and Indian counterparts, and proclaimed a tripartite business forum would be held in India in March, 2006, according to the Itar-Tass news agency.
The foreign ministers of Russia, China and India held their first separate meeting in Vladivostok, Russia's Far East, on June 2 and adopted joint documents for the first time.
Earlier the ministers of the three countries held tripartite meetings only within the framework of international forums, according to Lavrov.
The documents produced at the meeting declared common principles on the international scene and legalized agreements.
The major principle is "the adherence of Russia, India and China to the multi-polar world with the central role of the United Nations and the collective settlement of regional and global problems," Lavrov stressed.
The ministers reached a consensus on cooperation between police forces, secret services and agencies in fighting against terrorism, organized crime and drug trafficking, and the cooperation in energy, transport and high technologies, the Russian minister said.
Lavrov believes the agreements signed by the three ministers will strengthen tripartite cooperation and meet the interests of each country, if they are well implemented.
