Construction of China's largest shipyard kicks off in Shanghai

China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) has started on Changxing Island in east China's Shanghai the construction of its Changxing Shipbuilding Base, inaugurating China's largest shipyard with an annual shipbuilding capacity of 12 million tons.

According to plan, the project will be completed in 2015. The base will become the largest, most advanced and most competitive one in China, as well as one of the largest in the world.
