Ministry issues objectives for saving energy
font size

The Ministry of Construction launched overall objectives for energy-saving houses and public buildings recently.

By 2010, new building in cities and townships in China will be saving 50% of energy; growth rate of newly-added land used for construction should be cut by 20% on the current basis; water-saving rate in construction should be raised by at least 20%.

By 2020 energy consumption of houses and public buildings in China should approach or reach the level of medium-developed countries. The northern part of China, coastal developed regions and new buildings in metropolises will realize the goal to save 65% of energy.
