Two Palestinians were killed Tuesday morning in gun battles with Israeli soldiers in the northern West Bank city of Jenin, Palestinian witnesses reported.
Nasser Zakarny, 29, was shot dead by Israeli soldiers while another two Palestinians were injured in a gun battle when Israeli army were hunting for militants suspected of carrying out armed attacks against Israel.
In another case, Israeli soldiers killed Mraweh Kmeil and wounded two others in a military confrontation with militants in the village of Kabatiya near the city, witnesses said.
Israeli army imposed a closure on the village after pulling out and stationed at its entrances, they added.
Meanwhile, Israeli Radio reported that an Israeli soldier was lightly wounded during the exchange of fire, adding that the Palestinian militants are most likely members of the al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing under the Islamic Jihad (Holy War) movement.
