China, the US jointly found NanoSystems Institute

The Zhejiang-California NanoSystems Institute, which is jointly set up by the provincial government of Zhejiang, Zhejiang University and the California NanoSystems Institute was inaugurated on June 6, 2005 in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province.

The Institute builds three international platforms, i.e. platform for international cooperative research, for transformation and exchange of scientific fruits, for investment in science and industrialization. In order to carry out high-level research in nano-science and its related fields, the Institute will put up eight research centers in fields of systems biology, molecular imaging etc.
