The spokesman of the Islamic Jihad (Holy War) movement warned Tuesday that Palestinian factions not to count on the current truce after two of its militants were killed by Israeli soldiers.
Khadder Adnan told reporters that the movement has warned all the Palestinian factions and their armed wings not to count too much on the current calmness period, or truce, reached with Israel in early February.
"Our militants that were killed approved that they decided not to count too much on the truce and preferred to die instead of being detained," said Adnan.
"Therefore we call now on all Palestinian militants to keep their fingers on the triggers," added Adnan.
The Jihad spokesman slammed the Palestinian National Authority for their silence toward the daily violations by Israel, mainly in the West Bank.
Two Jihad members were killed in gun battles with Israeli soldiers in the northern West Bank city of Jenin Tuesday morning, while the Islamic radical group Hamas fired homemade Qassam rockets at Israeli settlements, challenging the fragile truce between the Palestinians and Israel.
