A senior official of the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC) has called for continued efforts to "manage the party in a stringent manner" and "improve the party's work style."
Wu Guanzheng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and also secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, made this call in an inspection tour in northeast China's Liaoning Province, with a view to learning the local situation and checking on the local government's performance.
During his tour from June 3-7, Wu visited the cities of Dalian, Anshan, Shenyang and Fushun, urging local officials to strengthen their law awareness, guard against corruption, further deepen reforms, and set up a long-term mechanism for improving the party's work.
He also stressed that leading officials should set an example for others in building a clean government and adopting a fine work style.
