Wang Chin-ping, vice-chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang Party (KMT) and head of the "Legislative Yuan", on the afternoon of June 7, handed over 100,000 signed copies, registering for the KMT chairmanship election.

According to a report from the "Central News Agency", Wang Chin-ping, accompanied by his wife and daughter at noontime on June 7, arrived at the headquarters of the KMT central committee to register for the election.

Wang Chin-ping indicated that KMT Chairman Lien Chan on June 6 encouraged him to take part in the election, and the "resoluteness in Lien Chan's tone of speaking" has spurred him to register for the election.
