According to a report from the "Central News Agency", Wang Chin-ping, accompanied by his wife and daughter at noontime on June 7, arrived at the headquarters of the KMT central committee to register for the election.
Wang Chin-ping indicated that KMT Chairman Lien Chan on June 6 encouraged him to take part in the election, and the "resoluteness in Lien Chan's tone of speaking" has spurred him to register for the election.
