Pharma prices to drop further
font size

The National Development and Reform Commission is planning a further move to slash pharmaceutical prices.

By controlling the process before the products are available to patients after they are off the production line, the plan is supposed to keep pharmaceuticals reasonably profitable and priced so that both producers and buyers benefit from the business.

The Commission cut the prices of some anti-infection drugs by 30 percent on average with the highest reduction of 56 percent last May. Officials with the Commission implied further steps at that time.
