Giant direct seller gears up expansion

American direct selling giant Nuskin is confident on generating annual sales up to 3 billion yuan in three years as the Chinese market for their business will be better regulated by rules to be launched.

On June 9, Nuskin declared a 20 million USD new tonic plant in Shanghai. Within 4 years, the new plant will serve not only the Chinese market, but also the company's 5 billion yuan global demand.

A few months ago, its facilities for health instrument began to work in Shanghai.

Nuskin's moves coincided with the official with the Ministry of Commerce Liao Jiancheng's remarks on June 7 that the regulations governing the direct selling business had been submitted to the State Council and would very likely be promulgated within the year.

As learned many businesses in direct selling are preparing for the fierce competition following the opening of the Chinese market.

Nuskin has invested more than 100 million USD in China since it entered into the market in 2003. Its sales reached 300 million USD and 880 million USD in the past two years. It plans to increase its outlets to 200 from the existing 125.
