The Philippine presidential palace said on Saturday that President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo remained unperturbed by the latest tactics employed by her opponents intent to derail the implementation of her economic reform program.

Presidential spokesman Ignacio Bunye said the president went on with her normal activities on Friday as she remained focused on her job of nation-building.

"The president's activities are normal. The last function she attended last night was to meet all the leaders of (ruling) Lakas (party), who expressed their full support to the president," said Bunye in an interview with local radio stations DZRH and RMN.

President Arroyo received the credentials of the new ambassadors to the Philippines of 13 countries Friday and Saturday, said the spokesman, adding that she will attend a scheduled National Day Reception at the Malacanang presidential palace.
