Syria and China signed an agreement on broadcasting cooperation on Sunday to promote program exchange activities between the two countries.

Under the accord, various broadcasting and TV programs in the fields of politics, economy, society, science, culture, tourism, sports and children will be exchanged between the two countries while communications and visits will also be expanded to enhance broadcasting cooperation.

In addition, staff training and co-production of programs of mutual concerns will also be facilitated.

The agreement was signed in Damascus by Hu Zhanfan, deputy director of China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and Miam Haydar, director general of Syria's broadcasting and television administration.

At the signing ceremony, Hu expressed his hope to implement the executive plan of the agreement as soon as possible, while Haydar voiced the desire to learn from China's successful experience in the industry.
