China to support information industry in the west
font size

China will work all-out to support western cities such as Chengdu, Xi'an and Chongqing as well as a group of well-based enterprises in the western region to expand and boost information industry.

Foreign investment and capitals from eastern and central areas will be encouraged to flow to the information industry in the west, so as to improve the productive efficiency of the western region in its development and to reduce production cost, consumption of resources and pollution.

These remarks were made by Wang Jinxiang, deputy director of the Office of the Leading Group for Western Region Development of the State Council at a forum on information service and the development of the western region held in Chengdu, capital city of southwest China's Sichuan Province on June 10.
