Honeywell's largest Asian R&D center settled in ShanghaiHoneywell, one of the world's top 500, declared it has made Shanghai its largest research and development center for turbocharger in Asia. The 500-million USD Honeywell Turbo Technologies Shanghai Global Technical Services, its 4th such facilities beyond those in Europe, North America and Japan, is a strategic move by the company which leads the world with its turbo technology. Honeywell is one of the first multinationals running business in China. Its operation in 12 cities in China generated more than 570 million USD sales last year. In 1994 Honeywell built a turbocharger plant in Shanghai, which has became a major manufacturing base in Asia. Over the last 11 years, Honeywell turned out some 2 million turbochargers and is expecting its production for this year to exceed 550,000. By People's Daily Online |
