| Diary of invading Japanese soldier found in Qianxi county, Hebei province |
|
A diary left over by an invading Japanese soldier was found in Xifengkou, Qianxi county, north China's Hebei province, where the first shot of the war against Japanese aggression was fired. The diary has 192 pages and 55,000 words. On the title page it reads "Diary kept for expedition to Manchuria", "Asahikawa, train will leave Otaru port at 6: 30 a.m., 26 September, the seventh year of the Reign of Syowa to Manchuria ... ". A square-shaped private seal with the words of "Ishibashi Seal" can be seen on the page, and an oval-shaped signet with the words of "Ishibashi" was seen at the right and bottom corner on the back cover.
Experts hold that discovery of Ishibashi diary provides research on war against Japanese aggression with crucial firsthand material, serving as irrefutable evidence of Japan's ambition to annex China and turn China into its colony.
The collector showed the diary of an invading Japanese solider he collected on June 10.
