Chinese foreign minister to visit Middle East nations

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing will pay official visits to Jordan, Palestine, Israel, Syria and Lebanon from June 17 to 26, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao in Beijing on June 14.

During the visit, Li will exchange views with leaders of the nations on improving bilateral relations and major international and regional issues, said Liu.

According to the spokesman, Li is to visit the five Middle East nations at the invitation of Jordanian Foreign Minister Farouq Al-Qasrawi, Palestinian Foreign Minister Nasser al-Kidwa, Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom, Syrian Foreign Minister Faruk al-Shareh and Lebanese Minister of Foreign and Emigrant Affairs Mahmoud Hammoud.
