Governor of flood-hit province to ask for penalty

Zhang Zuoji, governor of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, would ask for administrative penalties after he learnt 88 students at a local primary school were killed by mountain torrents.

He would ask the central government to give him administrative penalties, said Zhang on Sunday, while talking about the disaster that occurred at Shalan Town of Ning'an City.

Zhang said he felt very sad to see so many kids killed and should bear unshirkable responsibility as the governor.
