Relief funds distributed to families of pupil victims in NE China's flood-hit township

The families of pupil victims of flooding in Shalan Township, Ning'an City of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, each will receive a relief fund of 150,000 yuan (about 18,138 US dollars), said a local official in Ning��an, northeast China��s Heilongjiang Province Tuesday.

A mountain torrent hit Shalan Township last Friday afternoon, killing 99 people including 95 pupils.

Wang Tongtang, secretary general of Mudanjiang Municipal Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, said that the standard of the relief fund had been decided on the basis of similar domestic cases.
