font size

The Ministry of Commerce announced the arrangement on the quantity of 10 lines of Chinese textile exports on June 14 in Beijing. The ration is made in compliance with the memorandum of understanding on Chinese textile exports to the EU market signed in Shanghai on June 11.

China has promised to limit the annual growth of its 10 categories of textile exports between 8 percent and 12.5 percent over an agreed base till the end of 2007 while the EU agrees to stop investigation on these products.

The annual increase in cotton cloth, sheets and tablecloth exported to the EU is set at 12.5 percent from June 11, 2005 to the end of 2007.

Exports of T-shirts, women's dresses and flax yarn will be up 10 percent at most annually in this period.

The ceiling for the annual rise of pullovers, trousers, and blouses is 8 percent.

The announcement also specifies total quantity of each of the 10 export categories allowed each year.
