The Communist Party of China (CPC) will enhance exchanges with major political parties of India including the Communist Party of India (CPI) to push forward the development of Sino-Indian relations, said senior CPC official Wu Guanzheng Wednesday in Beijing.
Wu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a meeting with a CPI delegation led by CPI General Secretary Ardhendu Bhushan Bardhan.
Wu pointed to the sound growth of Sino-Indian relations in recent years, especially the announcement on building bilateral strategic and cooperative partnership oriented to peace and prosperity made in April this year.
He said the building of such a partnership has enabled bilateral relationship to enter a new development stage.
Wu said he believed that with efforts from both sides, Sino- Indian relations are bound to get still closer and bilateral pragmatic cooperation in various fields to be more fruitful.
Wu also briefed the guests on China's domestic situation.
Bardhan said bilateral relations have been increasingly growing in recent years and the growth of bilateral partnership conforms to the interests of both countries and is conducive to world peace and stability.
He said CPI supports the development of India-China friendship and adheres to the one-China principled position.
The CPI admires China's rapid development in the past decades and attaches great importance to exchanges with the CPC, Bardhan said, expressing the hope that it can learn from China's experience and promote the sound and steady growth of bilateral relations through party-to-party exchanges.
The delegation is here as guest of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.
