The Chinese government attaches great importance to relations with Belorussia and is willing to work with it to promote development of bilateral relations, said Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi in Harbin, capital city of northeast Chinas Heilongjiang Province on June 15.

Wu made the remarks when meeting with First Deputy Prime Minister of Belorussia Vladimir Semashko, who attended the 16th China Harbin Fair for Trade and Economic Cooperation.

Wu said China and Belorussia have enjoyed constant and stable development in their relationship since the establishment of diplomatic relations. The two sides have also conducted in-depth cooperation in such areas as economy and trade, technology, culture and education, and cooperated well in international affairs.

She also said China appreciates Belorussia's firm support given to China on the Taiwan question, the Tibet issue and the Falun Gong issue.

Semashko said Belorussia is satisfied with the fast development of and abundant achievements made in bilateral relations. He stressed that Belorussia is grateful for the political and economic support from the Chinese side and is confident for the future development of China-Belorussia relations.

He said Belorussia will adhere to the one-China policy and is willing to cooperate with China to strengthen the bilateral relations and two-way cooperation in all areas.
