Philippine President to visit Hong KongPhilippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo will meet with senior foreign investors in Hong Kong, China, next week during a visit to the city to invite them to make more investments in the Philippines, the Philippine presidential palace said on Wednesday. "The president will also take advantage of her brief Hong Kong visit to consult with known anti-corruption expert Tony Kwok, former head of the Hong Kong Independence Commission Against Corruption (ICAC)," said the presidential palace in a news release. Arroyo is expected to discuss the second phase of her economic reform agenda, including specific actions being taken to support key growth sectors of the economy that offer vast opportunities for foreign investments, it added. The second phase of the reform agenda involves programs that would guarantee that development gains will trickle down and benefit the poor, while mechanisms are set in place to ensure sustainable economic growth, according to the Philippine government.
