Hong Kong sees service industries receipts increase
font size

Business receipts of almost all service industries increased in value terms in the first quarter compared with a year earlier, said the Census & Statistics Department of Hong Kong Friday.

The Department said hotel business receipts grew 22.9 percent and those of the transport industry rose 18.6 percent.

It said the increase for hotels was mainly due to sustained growth in inbound tourism, while that for transport was due to growth in air and maritime transport.

Other service industries showing business receipt increases included the real estate, import-export trade, film entertainment and insurance sectors.

Analyzed by service domain, business receipts in the tourism, convention and exhibition services domain rose 16 percent in the first quarter over a year earlier, while that of the computer and information services domain grew 12.9 percent.
