Visiting Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan Wednesday held talks with some G77 leaders during the intermissions of the second summit of the G77 plus China, discussing potential South-South cooperation and South-North dialogue.

During the talks, leaders from Cape Verde, Lebanon, Togo, Laos, Thailand, Jamaica, Benin, Cuba, Afghanistan, Gabon, Pakistan and officials from the United Nations (UN) all expressed appreciation of China's active role in South-South cooperation, and the support China has offered to the UN and developing countries.

They hoped to further strengthen economic and technological cooperation with China in the future, and to promote coordination and negotiation on core international issues such as UN reform, so as to further protect developing countries' interests.

Zeng firstly thanked leaders for their support of China on key issues like Taiwan and human rights. As the political confidence between China and other developing countries deepened, cooperation in different areas increased, bilateral relations steadily developed, China and the Group of 77 (G77) enjoy a broad potential for further cooperation and development, Zeng said.

According to the Chinese vice premier, the summit offers a good opportunity for the many developing countries to sit together and discuss future cooperation and development. He expressed China's willingness to take specific measures to promote the South-South economic and technological cooperation, as well as to strengthen South-North ties through dialogue and negotiation.

The two-day summit, also known as the second South Summit, kicked off in the Qatari capital of Doha on June 15 and is attended by some 50 leaders.
