The Las Vegas-based Consumer Electronics Association (CES) will work with the SINOCES, China's largest consumer electronics exhibition, to stage a large electronic exposition in the eastern Chinese city of Qingdao from July 1 to 4, the organizing committee announced here Friday.

The show will be the first CES ever held outside the United States. Its partner, the China International Consumer Electronics Show, said that the company hopes the co-operation will become Asia's most influential show for home appliances, communication and IT products.

The theme is "three-C and seamless life"-- which means the integration of computers, communications and consumer electronics with people's life to make sure information is assessable at any place and any time, Cui Weidong, director of the organizing committee said.

Home theater equipment, over-head projectors, digital cameras, AV products, high-end mobile phones, and other electronic products will be on display at the show, he said.

More than 200 purchasers from more than 50 countries and regions have registered to attend the show. Other registered participants include major US home appliance chains Best Buy, Circuit City, RadioShack, and retailing giants such as Carrefour, Metro, and Lotus Supermarket Chains, Cui said.

According to Yu Chong, vice mayor of Qingdao, CES has chosen SINOCES because it is seeking a bigger development platform in China.
