Edmund Ho leaves Macao for Brazil visit

Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), left Macao on Sunday for Brazil to pay a six-day official formal visit to the Latin American country.

Ho, during his visit, is to call on Brazilian President Lula da Silva, meet with a number of federal ministers and leaders of the parliament, and to visit major cities including Sao Paulo, Brasilia, Manaus and Rio de Janeiro.

Ho and the delegation, grouping a dozen of Macao governmental officials, are also to meet with the local business community.

Rosa Silva Chan, Secretary for Administration and Justice, will be the acting chief executive of the SAR during Ho's absence.
