A Vanuatuan party leader said on Monday in Beijing that his party would consistently adhere to the one- China policy, during a meeting with a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Edward Natapei, chairman of the Vanuaaku Party of Vanuatu, told Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, that said the Vanuaaku Party would further its cooperation with the CPC and help push forward the relationship between China and Vanuatu.

Wang expressed appreciation of the Vanuaaku Party's long-time adherence to the one-China policy, as well as the Party's efforts to safeguard and promote bilateral relations between the two countries.

"We will make joint efforts with the Vanuatuan side to promote both the inter-party relations and nation-to-nation relations," said Wang.

Natapei arrived here on Sunday for a week-long visit as guest of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.
