Gu Xiulian, vice-chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, met on Monday with Ermir Dobjani, head of Albania Ombudsman, or Albania's state supervisory body.

Gu spoke highly of the friendly cooperation between China and Albania and expressed appreciation of the cooperation between supervisory bodies of the two countries. Gu also expressed the hope that the two countries would further strengthen their cooperation in supervision.

Ombudsman, as Albania's independent state organ, was founded at the end of the 1990s. It is in charge of investigating citizens' complaints against the government or its functionaries in a bid to improve justice and efficiency in the administrative departments.

Dobjani began his visit to China on Sunday at the invitation of Chinese Supervision Ministry.
